Class announcement: Writing About Your Immigrant Experience

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that next Saturday, Sept. 17, I’ll be teaching an online class from 10am - 1pm EST, Writing About Your Immigrant Experience. This is my second time teaching this class through Cooper Street Writing Workshops at Rutgers. In this 3-hour single-session class, we’ll read excerpts from contemporary immigrant writers’ memoirs and personal essays, discuss some of the themes and topics that often come up, and get started with our own writing. I hope to help empower you to start your non-fiction pieces and give you a set of practical tools to keep you going after the class is over, so everyone will get a comprehensive handout with reading materials, writing tips, and notes on pitching.
